She lived! Next is me...? Day -3 for Terry

It has been a week since Joan arrived. (Let's just get this clear now....me and most of my immediate family call her Linda, my parents, uncle and aunts call her Lynn (don' know where it came from)......But in 3rd grade she had six "Lindas" in her class that year so she officially became "Joan".........it stuck with all her school high school, college and will most likely carry into her golden years. Oh, yeah she is already there at age 60 (August 3rd)? hahahaha!

Anyway, she has finished her job here. She was "flu-achy" after the first two shots, and then seemed to accept the last two just fine. We ate wonderful dinners, saw a few movies, "Alice in Wonderland, not worth the $14.00 to see it 3D, but nice and entertaining. Rented "Precious" off the TV, it was not as bad as we thought it would be. Definitely go to rental, RED BOX if you can, not worth full screen prices. And watched HOUSE on TV USA trying to figure out IF those predicaments really happen? But the number of blue eyes certainly or worth watching! Linda is planning to leave Saturday AM to enjoy her last weekend of spring break. AJ, Keli and Pam will take over on the weekend and Martha will kick in as my permanent caretaker on DAY "0", Tuesday, along with Pam, Lazar and others driving me back and forth to the clinic daily. It will all work out fine. TEAL is WORKING! Running the business that pays the health insurance. That's his job!

HERE IS THE present FOR the DONOR! I have to give thanks to Sally Gray, retired teacher from Needville, Texas, for sharing this project with me. She is one of Joan's very good friends and just happens to be an excellent at finishing with a long-arm quilting machine. This girlfriends is a talent in itself! I have found out that I like to pick designs, fabrics and even sew together the top, but after that....yuck! So thank you again Sally.
Back to the gift. The "Log Cabin" pattern is really one of my favorites. It is one of the very oldest around, and has great meanings ~the heart and the home. The design is the very core of a woman's life, encompassing her passions, attitudes, beliefs, noble spirit and her spirituality, anger, and indignities. The log cabin design is square: beginning with a RED square in the middle that is the HEART of the HOME this square should always be RED. New contemporary designs are dropping the RED...not me!") I still believe you can go contemporary and have a reddish heart (or pink if you are doing pastels). I chose the lightside/darkside to finish my pattern. In the home you will always have light things....weddings, births, happy memories, and then unfortunately there is always the dark things, miscarriage, divorce, burned homes, loss of love ones, war. This is family home life: start with a healthy, happy HEART, go to the LIGHT, mix in a little DARK, but you always want to come full circle, back to a happy heart. God is always there turning bad into good. So turn to the light. God will never leave you.

"Blessed is the man/woman who trust in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him." Jeremiah 17:17
